Jesus and American Idol
My family and I are American Idol fans. We were at church on Wednesday so we recorded "Idol Gives Back." Our DVR cut off the last few minutes of the show. We found out that we missed the idols singing one of our favorite songs, "Shout to the Lord."
Bummer.
I also heard they took out the the name of "Jesus" on Wednesday's performance, changing it to "Shepherd".
Bummer.
But, our disappointment was short-lived, because--in last night's performance--"Jesus"--our Shepherd and our Savior--was back.
Very Cool.

I was freaking out last night that they changed it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how amazing was that?!
but i was really mad that Michael was voted off. America DID NOT get it right. i loved how all the judges were consoling him instead of the contestants. PRICELESS!
Actually, the name of Jesus has been sung several times on American Idol.
Check out this blog to see what I'm talking about:

Thanks Tim.
Hey gang--Check out Tim's blog for a detailed listing of the times the name of Jesus has been used in the past few weeks.
Good stuff.

Watching American Idol away from the Chambers house just isn't the same and I miss it.
Thanks for drawing our attention to this! I also appreciated Bob Kauflin's perspective -- he points out the good things about hearing "Shout to the Lord" on AI, but also reminds us of some potential drawbacks that we need to take care not to overlook.
