The board of the World Convention (Christian-Churches of Christ-Disciples of Christ) is searching for an executive director. The director’s principal responsibility is to lead in the day-to-day ministry of the World Convention while representing its goals and aspirations. The chief task is to encourage unity within the Stone-Campbell Movement and the body of Christ at large in multiple creative ways. The director is the primary fund-raiser for the support of the World Convention office (located in Nashville, TN) and the quadrennial global gatherings. Salary and benefits are competitive. The search committee is composed of Douglas Foster (Churches of Christ), Richard Hamm (Disciples of Christ), and Robert Wetzel (Christian Churches). The Hi-Way Church of Christ in Cebu, Philippines, announces that the Christ on Campus Student Ministry has been officially recognized at the Cebu Institute of Technology. Plans for that ministry include three or more drug symposiums, possible medical clinics, and hosting a weekly inter-group prayer meeting. Haitian Bible College will begin operations in Port au Prince in January. Heavenly Hills Christian Camp is seeking a couple that loves ministry and desires to serve together. The couple will serve as the only year-round staff for this small camp. Responsibilities include camp operations (overseeing office administration, marketing, and correspondence; hiring seasonal help; and working with retreat directors, food service (planning, ordering, preparing food, serving, and cleaning up), and facilities and maintenance (construction and maintenance of buildings and grounds, including plumbing, electricity; and housekeeping needs). Pleasant Grove Christian Church, located near Geff, IL, was destroyed by fire May 29. The 155-year-old congregation’s building dated to the 1870s, with an addition built in 1983. The congregation has voted to build in the same location. The church is in need of pews, pulpit, and Communion table and chairs. Wooden rails slide up and down easily and hard plastic latches lock the rails in place. Comes with four 3-inch thick, vinyl-covered foam mattresses. Measures 76 inches by 26 inches by 71 inches. The family of the late Tom Lipscombe has decided to part with his library of church histories and Restoration books. Tom was a Christian minister in central Kentucky for more than 50 years. The library includes many books by Barton W. Stone and Alexander Campbell, along with a complete set of Millennial Harbingers.
