Robert A. “Bob” Scott, 95, of Joplin, Mo., who ministered in Christian churches for decades, died Sept. 19, 2022. Jennifer Perkins Taylor has more than 250 career wins as Point University’s softball coach, a program she has been with since it began. John Perkins led Point’s baseball team to the NAIA World Series in 2016 as a first-year head coach. The pair fiercely support each other, their programs, and the mission of Point University “to educate students for Christ-centered service and leadership throughout the world.” . . .

Point University is partnering with hundreds of Chick-fil-A operators to provide a low-cost, online college education to the restaurant chain’s employees. The effort looks as if it will double Point’s online enrollment. “It’s already a game-changer,” said Dean Collins, Point’s president.

Point University senior Ruan Pretorius, a native of South Africa, received the 2021 Jack Nicklaus Award recognizing him as the top golfer in NAIA at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio, on Sunday.
